I can't believe that the judges said Alexis was over the top but yet they said NOTHING about Adam?

I will not say that Adam can't sing because I believe he is a well trained singer. I also believe that he could be a HUGE hit in the theatre. I do not believe that this guy will sell records with the way he sings right now. He needs to let go of all the training for five minutes and sing with true passion and then maybe I would like him.

I can totally see him in "Jesus Christ Superstar" because that is what his singing/screaming reminds me of.Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-35963746232016675282009-02-24T12:43:00.004-06:002009-02-24T13:27:27.420-06:00I'm so behind...Okay so although my son is now 14 months I'm just now going Saturday to get his one year pictures.

We are doing two outfits. For my mothers sake we are doing one with jeans, t-shirt, and button down w/his Nike's. Then I'm going to fix his hair into mohawk fashion (which is the norm with him) and this is wear I have my dilema. I am in need of a place to get a really rockin' t-shirt to wear with jeans.

I realize this is REALLY short notice but if anyone knows of a good place please let me know!

Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-4064856350066104592009-02-18T15:32:00.001-06:002009-02-18T15:33:54.867-06:00QuestionOkay so your on vacation and you forget your toothbrush. A)Use your spouses toothbrush or B)Use your finger

What do you do?Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-22540173813050168992009-01-12T10:44:00.004-06:002009-01-12T10:52:46.056-06:00This weekend...I'm sure by now everyone is tired of hearing "Oh we're going to Vegas this weekend...oops no now we are going next weekend." Finally after months of trying to go and not being very successful due to work schedules we are 100% getting on a plane this Friday January 16th, 2009. In fact I received our plane tickets and our hotel confirmation and picked up my dress.

Here are some pictures after searching and searching I finally found "The One"!

Here she is...

I had to take pictures in sections because I didn't have a great place to hang this beautiful dress. Hopefully tonight my friend Jamie can come by and take some pictures of me IN the dress. If not then I will be sure to post pictures when we come back from VEGAS!

Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-7744949056889506782008-12-19T08:00:00.004-06:002008-12-19T10:40:37.566-06:00Happy Birthday Chandler!I can't believe you were born a year ago today. Larry and I put it up and the kids decorated it. Although my OCD tendencies are trying feverishly to come out, I am trying desperately to hold back from re organizing the tree.

Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-25788501603212677672008-12-05T09:13:00.004-06:002008-12-05T09:48:20.666-06:00Lost :(I feel as if KK and LL are ALWAYS going to be in competition with each other. I'm not sure how people with twins cope.

So both KK and LL need to do a timeline project. LL is doing his on Larry and KK is doing hers on me.

KK's was due today so we got to work right away last night. We had already had almost everything laid out it just needed the pictures to be glued on and such. As we were working she decided she wanted to get some scrapbooking embellishments for the years we don't have pictures. So off to walmart we went. I got everything she wanted and got back to get going again.

As we were cutting things out the other kids wouldn't leave her alone. They all wanted to give their opinions or help out especially LL. I explained to him that it was really nice that he was offering but he needed to work on his and she needed to do hers. She started to get really frustrated and wouldn't stop crying. I couldn't figure out why when I was doing everything she wanted to do.

At one point I had to stop her mid project and go into a different room and inquire as to what had gotten her so upset. She looked at me with sad eyes and said "I'm dumb". I insured her that she was NOT dumb and asked why she thought that. She said that when everyone tells her or offers up their opinions on the way she should do her project it makes her feel like she is stupid and can't do it on her own. So I apologized if I had did or said anything to make her feel that way and then I told her I would make sure everyone stayed away.

I went out and let her work on the living room floor and eventually she asked for my help but I only did the things she asked for and that seemed to help a little.

Maybe it's my fault. Maybe I'm just too over protective. I just know what a good job she can do and maybe I just overstepped my bounds. I just don't know. Couldn't they write a manual on the right way to raise kids?

Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-44518325065078470592008-12-04T15:57:00.002-06:002008-12-04T16:15:46.493-06:00KayKay is following in my footsteps. So as you can all tell from some of my earlier posts it's quite painfully obvious that I always felt like I lived in my brother's shadow. I still to this day feel that way.

Monday night the school's 4th graders did a small musical about Science. KK had several duets and a out in front dancing part. LL who is also in the 4th grade had a part where he had to go across the stage while dribbling a basketball.

As always my parents were in attendance. We left immediately after the fourth graders were done because Chandler was needing his medicine and to go to bed. My parents decided to watch the sixth graders.

On the way home we told both kids how good they did and how proud we were. My mom even called and talked to K for a few minutes. Next thing I know K is upset and crying. I called her in and tried to find out what was bothering her and she just kept saying that Grandma doesn't love her anymore.

I have learned that the real problem was simply that my mother told K to please make sure she told LL that he did a good job.

How can I reassure her that she is good and doesn't need to feel like it's a competition? I don't want her to have the same resentment that I did.Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-36818494289843162832008-12-03T15:28:00.002-06:002008-12-03T16:29:40.430-06:00Mohawk???So the other night I decided to give Chandler a mohawk that I think goes quite well with his personality. I feel sorry for anyone who currently has or has ever had them. It's painful and the blisters aren't even the worst of it. The fact that my left side from my back to around the front feels like it's on fire and occasionally it feels as if I'm being stabbed. Now normally I wouldn't complain but on top of the shingles (that refuse to go away) I have strep throat. For the last four days when I speak it's like really high pitched and squeaky. I did however have two people tell me that it sounds "cute".

Well I'm off to pick up Chase and his pumpkin from Maw-Maw's so we can go home and carve it with the other kids.

Much love all!Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-79474174707648802022008-10-29T16:44:00.001-05:002008-10-29T16:48:32.985-05:00Andy Rooney...Okay here is another great email I received...not sure if it's 100% true but if it is then GO ANDY!!!

Good for him!!!
Surprised CBS let him get away with this even though he's right

Andy Rooney said on '60 Minutes' a few weeks back:

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers.. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, which is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE ?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right 'NOT' to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich; I don't pity the poor

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say 'NO!'

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

And if you don't like my point of view, tough...Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3404574968326180220.post-19611598796160883562008-10-14T11:04:00.001-05:002008-10-14T11:04:43.505-05:00McCain for President!!!!!Got this in an email...

This is your country. Don't be afraid to check out these facts for your self.

Listening to the mainstream media these last few days I've learned a few
things about the GOP's VP nominee but, I also had to learn a few things
on my own.

1. From the media I learned Sarah Palin's husband had a DUI conviction
22 years ago.

* On my own I learned that Ted Kennedy, hero of last month's tribute at
the DNC, was drunk while driving a car off a bridge in Chappaquiddick.
That same crash killed a young campaign volunteer with whom he was
having an affair. Oh, and that woman was pregnant with his child.

* Mr. Palin's (who is not running for office) DUI came a mere 4 years
after Barack Obama (who is running for president) stopped using cocaine
and marijuana (by his own admission in his autobiography). Shocking -
it's OK for the presidential candidate to use drugs or the Dem. party
patriarch to kill someone while driving drunk yet a VP candidate should
be demonized for something her husband did 22 years ago.

2. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant but
not married.

* On my own I learned the Obama's mother was an unmarried street hippy
in Honolulu , Hawaii , when she conceived Obama.

* On my own I learned that Joe Biden's (the other VP candidate) son was
paid a large amount of money as a consultant to credit card company
MBNA. That same company had business before Senator Joe Biden concerning
regulation of consumer credit practices. After the company paid a hefty
sum to Mr. Biden's son, he voted in favor of legislation to help that
company. That same son, Hunter, is also engaged in a legal investigation
and suit for defrauding a former business partner. Shocking - it's a
crime for the republican VP candidate to have a daughter who's pregnant,
even though it's irrelevant to how she performs her job, but it's ok
that the democrat presidential candidate's mother conceived him out of
wedlock. It's ok, also, for the democrat senator VP candidate to vote in
favor of a company that paid his son over a quarter of a million
dollars.

3. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin should be considered
'selfish' for agreeing to run for VP knowing about her daughter's
condition. Knowing that her public role would bring extra scrutiny on
the family is selfish and she should have declined in order to protect
her child (actually heard this on ABC last weekend).

* Strange - the same people who say Sarah is selfish for running for VP
did not seem to care about any impact on Chelsea when Bill Clinton had
his dalliance with Monica Lewinsky. That was a private, personal matter
you see.

4. From the media I have learned to be 'concerned' that Sarah Palin
probably won't be able to manage her family and do an effective job of
being VP at the same time.

* Funny - I never heard anything about Hillary's ability to support
Chelsea while re-doing healthcare or anything from the feminist icons
who say you can balance work and family. They also never mention that
Barack will have to balance time with his children while meeting with
heads of rogue nations or how Joe Biden's kids don't even have a mom and
will be fighting for his time while he hosts White House coffee
fundraisers and sells nights in the Lincoln bedroom.

5. From the media I have learned that Sarah Palin is 'too inexperienced'
to be a heartbeat-away from the presidency.

* Apparently taking on corruption in your own party and running a state
that's the same size, people-wise, as Delaware (hint hint: that's where
Joe Biden is from) is not really experience.

* However, time spent as a 'community organizer' and less than 180 days
in the senate where you've authored NO significant legislation is just
the type of 'change' we're looking for from the top of the ticket.

* Funny - inexperience at the top of the ticket is a mantra for 'change'
and 'hope' while strong practical everyday experience as the #2 is cause
for concern.

6. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin's husband once got a ticket
for fishing without a license.

* I haven't heard much about the fact that if he were still a practicing
attorney, the VP candidate Joe Biden would be disbarred for plagiarism
not once but multiple times. It's ok to break the rules if you' re a
democrat candidate but not Ok if you are the spouse of a republican
candidate.

7. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin doesn't know much about
Iraq ; in fact we wonder if she even knows where it is.

* Sarah's son volunteered for the US military and is now deployed in
Iraq . I guess that doesn't count. Sarah has spent more time with troops
in Iraq (as commander of the Alaska National Guard she visited Iraq last
year) than Obama has even while running for president. In fact, when
Sarah went to Iraq she spent time with the troops. When Obama went
there, he skipped a base visit to instead go work out at the Ritz
Carlton .

8. From the media I learned that Sarah Palin is a 'lightweight' and she
better be a 'quick study' to keep up with this team.

* Funny, nobody is talking about how, after Barack Obama had 'visited 57
states' according to him he only had '5 more to go' or endless other
stupid gaffes that expose who he really is.

9. From the media I have learned that (gasp!), Sarah Palin's husband was
once a registered member of a 3rd party that favored states' rights
(man, this is really bad stuff).

* That same media has been silent to the story that when Barack Obama
announced his first senate run, he did so in the home of William Ayers.
Mr. Ayers is an un-repentant terrorist convicted for bombing the
pentagon. This same Mr. Ayers said on 9/11 that he and his group did not
do enough to harm our military and he wished he had done more. During
the same time as that comment, he was serving on a board with Barack
Obama. All notes and information about their serving together is now
locked up by the corrupt Chicago machine and reporter access to those
records are being blocked by the Obama campaign.

If we've had any doubts about the bias of the media, it's pretty clear
now where they stand. Pass this on to your friends, some of whom may
still be on the fence and/or may be getting all of their liberal-biased
news/opinions from Katie Couric, Wolf Blitzer, Tom Brokaw and the gang.
This is egregious and corrupt. The only way to stop it is to spread
information using other outlets and make these guys irrelevant.Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06119654658431888351noreply@blogger.com2
